Alfamation is proud to announce its membership subscription, in the Automotive SerDes Alliance (ASA), a global initiative driving the standardization of high-speed in-vehicle media connectivity.
What is ASA?
The Automotive SerDes Alliance is a non-profit industry consortium founded in 2019 by leading automotive and technology players with the goal of standardizing SerDes (Serializer/Deserializer) communication for automotive applications.
SerDes technology enables the high-speed transmission of large volumes of data between sensors, cameras, displays, and control units, inside modern vehicles — particularly critical for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous driving and Infotainment solutions.
ASA’s mission is to create an open and interoperable standard that will facilitate the adoption of it, allowing different vendors’ technologies to seamlessly work together.
Why standardization matters
Modern vehicles rely on increasingly complex electronic architectures. Without standardization, OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers face:
- Integration complexity across multiple solution
- Limited scalability due to proprietary technologies
